Colton's Contest Update

Well people, the first leg of the contest is over and unfortunately our little man did not make the finalist cut. Looking at the list, I wonder if the odds were stacked against him. I would be shocked if any of the finalists are a year old, at the most. It's too bad, because the prize of going to Disneyland would have been fun. Oh well, life goes on.

I want to thank everyone who went and rated Colton a 10, we appreciate the thoughts. He may not be be the contest winner of Calgary's cutest kid, but he's number one to Mommy and Daddy. In the end what else matters.

Howdy folks! Well, I sure hope you all have been voting for Colton in "Calgary's Cutest Kid" contest. For anyone still not sure how to do it, you go to the link I've posted in the previous posting, and click on the number 10 in the rating bar.

So today's post is a major announcement. My wife as many off you know is a photographer by profession. Coming over here, she was excited at the prospect of shooting some very cool landscapes. About a month ago we took a trip north east to a ghost town near Drumheller, where she took some neat shots of Alberta's forgotten past. She then entered them into the Stampede for consideration in the big art exhibit they do every year. Well, last night she received word that 2 of her photo's have been selected for display in the show! The theme is The Western Showcase. She is very excited as you can imagine, as are Colton and I. We knew she was always very talented with her photography, and this will be an awesome opportunity to get her some additional exposure in a major showcase! Way to go Jody.

Now some of you may be asking what shots were the selected shot's, well, I'd show you, but then you wouldn't make the trip down to the stampede grounds to see them. So come on down, and take a look. If you are interested and really like the photo's they'll be for sale at the gallery too. So from here she is selecting additional photo's to enter into the competition for best in show, hopefully she does well. We're pretty stoked about the exhibit though.

Colton's Needs Your Votes!

Howdy Everyone,

Well, it has been a little while since my last post. We had a busy couple of weeks full of traveling. We went down to Utah to see the extended family, and Colton had a blast. The 14 hour drive wasn't much fun, there are only so many movies a boy can watch. But there are a bunch of young cousins down there, and he thought it was the coolest thing to hang with them. We had a really good time seeing family that Jody and I haven't seen in almost four years.

After Utah I was home for a couple of days before I had to make a run to Montreal for work. That was my first time ever traveling to the French province. It was very odd, feeling like a foreigner in your own country. I heard more french in those two days than I have in my entire life! Many of the people over there speak great english as well as French though, and they were extremely friendly, at least the ones I met.

The traveling is done for a bit now however, and I'm looking forward to settling in at home with my family for a bit. We are however trying for another trip though, and that bring me to the purpose of this blog post.

Colton has been entered by his mommy into "Calgary's Cutest kid" contest! There is some seriously stiff competition however as there are nearly 4000 entries. He needs all the votes you can muster. I believe you can vote as many times as possible, so please don't hesitate to throw a few his way every day. The first leg of the contest goes to April 22nd. After that the top twenty will be selected, and if Colton makes it; voting for the top twenty will go until May 2nd. The winner will be announced May 3rd. The grand prize is a trip to Disneyland!
